So being frustrated how SHIT our current student portal is - check it out here : [link] I decided to start this little personal project.

As you can see it looks a bit like facebook but instead of a stream you've got your student messages from lecturers, you can start your own groups, get in touch with your lecturers fast and easy. Your shit gets organised thanks to the academic calendar which shows you important submissions/assessments/etc.

It looks very nice actually and if it was me deciding, I'd go all in for this! However, as university's tend to be very cheap on this kind of stuff (and generally speaking), I doubt they'll ever upgrade :S. BTW, WebCT was acquired by Blackboard and Blackboard Learn [link] looks quite nice. Guess they'll never upgrade
